PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Dr. Cohen is a Senior Vice President of Potomac Strategies International and its Chief Scientist. He has over thirty-six years of technical and management experience spanning the fields of business, military technologies, systems and operations analyses, air defense, command and control, information systems, and computer modeling.
Prior to joining PSI, Dr. Cohen was CEO and Chief Scientist of JHF, Inc. During this time his principal technical work was to develop analytical tools and perform analyses for JHF clients.
Prior to JHF, Inc., as a Vice President of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), McLean, Virginia, he served as Chief Scientist for the Defense Analyses Group and the Information Systems Group. In addition Dr. Cohen has been active on numerous DARPA projects involving advanced sensor systems, and in projects involving tactical command and control and led several internal R&D projects applying expert systems technology to Army air defense command and control.
At SAIC Dr. Cohen successfully led the proposal effort to win the Army's Joint Forward-Area Air Defense Testbed competition and then managed the program. He was Technical Director of SAIC's Strategic Defense Initiative Project and led SAIC's competitive effort on the Army's Air Land Battle System competition.
In his career, Dr. Cohen has authored many computer simulation models, including: the Army's Air Defense General Evaluation Model, a Differential Lancaster Battalion Battle Model, an Acoustics Model for Air Defense, the JFAAD End-to-End Simulation, the Cocaine Pathfinder Model, and the BUNA Chemical Industries Business Model for the FRG as well as a number of analytical business tools.
Prior to SAIC, Dr. Cohen was a Program manager at R & D Associates, Chief Scientist of Pan Engineering Ltd. in Israel, Head of Systems Analysis for the Engineering Division of Israel Aircraft Industries, Group Leader at the Aeroneutronics Division of Philco-Ford, and Assistant Professor of Physics at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Dr. Cohen served
eight years in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Captain.
