PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Peder Cox is a senior logistics management consultant at Potomac Strategies International LLC.  He has over 28 years of both national and international experience in the field.  A retired Army officer, he has a broad span of experience in all areas of logistics management, from the strategic to tactical levels, command and control, United Nations Peacekeeping Operations and Command, Control, Communications and Information (3CI) systems development.

Mr. Cox has advised several high-technology and service industry companies in the successful development of marketing strategy and program development related to the acquisition and execution of government contracts.  He is currently involved in several major projects ranging from the development of a Global Movements Tracking System for the US Army, the implementation of Hazardous Materials Management and Disposal at DOD facilities world wide and the development of proposals and support plans for the Congressionally Mandated Commercialization of DOD activities and facilities.

From 1989 through 1992 Mr. Cox was the Central Army Group's primary project officer for the development of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) latest automated command and control system.  From 1992 until 1995 he played a major role in the development, testing and implementation of the U.S. Army's latest logistics system, the Combat Service Support Computer System (CSSCS), one of the major elements of the new Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A).  During this same period Mr. Cox was deeply involved in the writing of the latest version of the Army's primary doctrine manual, FM 100-5.

During the period February 1995 through June 1997 Mr. Cox served as the principal advisor for all logistics and engineering support to the Special Representation to the Secretary General, United Nations Mission in Haiti and then the Transitional Administrator for the Secretary General, United Nations Transitional Administration in Eastern Slovenia (Croatia).  In this capacity Mr. Cox was responsible for the development and implementation of all plans for logistics support, base camp construction, intra and inter-theatre transportation and logistics support for all national elections.

Throughout his career both in the military and with the United Nations, Mr. Cox developed a reputation as a recognized expert in the field of multi-functional logistics management, command and control systems development and as strategic and operational planner for international logistics support operations.
